Rosemary Dreger Carey of Pascack Sustainability Group forwarded this radio clip that recently aired on This American Life. Per Rosemary, “It tells the story of two people with different views on hydrofracking. Fracking is a type of gas drilling that injects millions of gallons of hydraulic fluids—a mix of water, chemicals and sand—into a well to create pressure that cracks open the rocks under the ground, allowing the gas to escape and flow into wells. It can potentially deplete and contaminate water sources, including water bodies here in New Jersey. Please take the time to listen to to the radio show. Fracking is an issue we must be knowledgeable about so we can demand our legislators to make safe and equitable energy policy decisions.”
